Parenting Night Seminar
Being a parent is such a grand experience isn't it? I mean, it's great stuff, like: baseball, hiking, camping, teaching to build fires, teaching to clean, teaching to cook, building stuff, fixing stuff, putting together toys, training in all sorts of great stuff. It is also great stuff like: changing diapers, no privacy, crying-screaming-tantrums, cleaning and kissing boo-boos, discipline, and eventually they leave and leave you alone.
The greatest thing about parenting, is that we have a unique position, opportunity, and responsibility to our kids. First, our unique position, we are the first interaction with authority that our kids have. We are the ones who will model for them the use of authority, and later the proper use of influence. There is a link between our kids' submission to our authority and their subsequent submission to God's authority. Next, our unique opportunity, we have the privilege of being the first person to tell them about the Lord, adn his death to pay for the sins of his people. Then, our unique responsibility, we have a responsibility to not only make sure that our lives are lived "worthy of the Gospel," but to also raise them in the fear and admonition of God. These are two prongs of the same fork.
So, parenting is huge, if you want some help in growing in those areas, please join Vince and Kristie as they look at not only what the Bible says about those areas, but also how we might practically grow in each of them.
