Some of us arrive at the end of 2020 weary and burdened, others fearful and anxious, others guilty and ashamed at what the year has brought out of us. There is good news for us as we remember the incarnation: Jesus was born for us. The first people around the manger were not people who had it all together. They were poor or unclean, scandalized or doubting. Christ was born for them. He was born for us.
