Two Services One Mission

Two Services Starting March 4th

On March 4th we'll launch two services at 8:45am and 11am. There's a lot of change ahead but one thing that won't change at all.

What To Expect

Wondering what to expect starting March 4th? Here you go:

  • 8:45am-10:15am : First Service
  • 10:15am-11am : Connect Time / Break
  • 11am-12:30pm : Second Service

Connect Time: We believe that little block of 45 minutes in between services will be really important. One of our prayers is that through this transition God would help us maintain unity and fellowship across services. So during that "Connect Time" we're going to have donuts and coffee plus a few other snacks in the Connect Room and on some tables outside it. We'd love for this to be a place where folks can linger after the first service and meet people coming early for the second service. So stay late or come early, grab a cup of coffee, enjoy a snack, and fellowship with us.

Theology Class: Very likely our Theology class will be meeting during the first service starting March 4th. So if you want to attend this class consider attending the second service. Stay tuned for details.

Why We're Doing This

As we discussed in December there are several factors playing into this decision to move to two services, but there's one major pushing us toward this: we're running out of room! We are over 90% full on Sundays (sometimes 95%+) and often it's difficult for people arriving just a few minutes late to find a seat. This is especially tough for families looking for 4 or 5 seats together.

Along with that very practical reason for going to two services we carry a missional reason: We want more people to be able to hear the gospel and grow in the Lord. From the very beginning of our church 30 years ago our heartbeat has been to reach our city with the gospel of Jesus and make disciples. By God's grace we're doing that with more people than ever before and if God is behind this we want to embrace it.

So if you've been holding back on inviting someone to join us, don't hold back anymore! As we head toward Easter we'll have plenty of room.

How to Pray

Can I ask you for something? Would you spend the next few weeks in prayer for this change? Here are a few specific requests:

  • Pray that God would give us unity and allow us to maintain relationships and fellowship through transition
  • Pray for our Sunday teams as they make big changes to serve our church
  • Pray that God would draw those who don't know Jesus to our church to find hope and help in the gospel
  • Pray for our Pastors and Leadership Team as they lead through this change and put in extra work

On March 4th, a lot of things will change but one thing won't: You'll find us singing, preaching, and fellowshipping around the gospel of Jesus. Let's pray that this change would result in the gospel resounding all the more in the El Paso region.
